BIO

Espen Tallaksen is the CEO and founder of EmLogic, the leading design centre for Embedded Systems and FPGA in Norway. He has also founded two previous companies, Digitas and Bitvis, both very successful and leading companies within FPGA and Embedded Software at their time. Espen is the author and architect of UVVM, a methodology and library for verification of FPGAs, used today by 27 of all FPGA designers worldwide. He is also the initiator and chair of FPGA-Forum, the Norwegian annual FPGA conference (2005 - present), which gathers a major part of the Norwegian FPGA community every year. Espen has 30+ years’ experience with FPGA and ASIC development from various companies in Norway and Philips Semiconductors in Switzerland, after graduating from the University of Glasgow in Scotland. Every year, he gives presentations at all the large FPGA conferences in Europe, and he also gives courses worldwide on how to design and verify FPGAs more efficiently and with better quality. He has been a guest lecturer for many years at NTNU, University of Oslo and University of Bergen.
