Marcis leads the Ventspils International Radio Astronomy Centre (VIRAC), an engineering and research institute focused on radio astronomy and space technologies. He also drives the development of VIRATEC, the institute’s commercial arm, serving as CTO with a core mission to deliver large-aperture ground segment services to the global space industry and to bring VIRAC/VIRATEC R&D innovations to market. He has more than 10 years of experience in the space sector, combining over five years of hands-on electronics and systems engineering with extensive experience in project management, engineering team leadership, and the management of a scientific research institute.
