Nils Haga serves as Norway’s Ambassador for ESA Space Solutions (BASS), operating from Kjeller Innovasjon. In this role, he connects Norwegian industry with ESA’s Business Applications programme — translating challenges in sectors such as energy, maritime, digitalisation and microelectronics into space-enabled services that qualify for ESA funding and de-risked commercial pilots. Nils mentors teams through ideation, partnership building and proposal writing, and he regularly briefs clusters and innovation ecosystems on open ESA calls and how to structure winning applications. In addition to being a former incubator lead, he brings more than 35 years of senior experience in oil and gas, renewable energy, automation, software and aquaculture, as well as extensive board work. Nils holds an MSc in Engineering from NTNU and an MBA from SDA Bocconi. His mission: to help Norwegian companies turn satellite data, navigation and telecommunications assets into scalable, revenue-generating solutions with an international business perspective.
