About

Nima Shahinian is a Norwegian industrial designer and technologist pioneering new approaches to human spaceflight systems. He underwent commercial spaceflight participant training at the Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center (GCTC) as part of preparations for a commercial mission to the International Space Station planned for the end of 2022, a journey ultimately halted following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. He is the founder, Chairman, and Chief Architect of Nåva Space, where he is leading the development of the next generation of extravehicular activity (EVA) spacesuits and its complete ecosystem. Working with leading international institutions, companies, and space agencies, Nåva Space is challenging established global players with the ambition of strengthening European autonomy in human spaceflight and shaping the future of lunar exploration and beyond. Shahinian is also recognized for his distinctive design methodology and multidisciplinary approach to innovation. His work spans industries and scales, from Lamborghini vehicles and drones to consumer electronics and advanced space systems, combining expertise in universal design and aerodynamics with a drive to rethink how complex technologies are designed around people.
