Space-edge AI with FPGAs: efficient on-board intelligence for Earth observation
About
Yaman is a Principal Edge AI Designer at EmLogic and adjunct associate professor at NTNU, specializing in ultra-efficient ML deployments across constrained edge hardware such as FPGAs, NPUs and microcontrollers. Previously a Principal Engineer at AMD/Xilinx Research and the creator of the FINN co-design framework, his work has helped shape real-world edge AI systems ranging from earth observation and intelligent vision systems to network security and high-energy physics. His contributions have been recognized with the CERN CMS Industry Gold Award, the NORA.ai Paper of the Decade, multiple Best Paper awards, and a nomination for the Xilinx Ross Freeman Award.
